Welcome to the website of the Manchester Palaeontology Society!
Our society was established by several PhD students, all working on areas within Palaeontology, and all members of the Palaeontology Research Group. The PhD students, and our members span faculties all across the University, including Life Science, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Theology, Computer Science.
Our aim is to provide events such as guest/internal speakers giving talks, revsion discussion for students studying palaeontology, and fieldtrips for fossil hunting. All our activities are tailored for a wide range of participants, from the budding amature who enjoys picking up fossils on the beach, all the way to academics in the subject. We have close ties with the Manchester Geological Association, and the Society for Manchester's Environmental and Geology Students.
Our society is also involved in the hosting of Progressive Palaeontology, a conference for post graduates working in palaeontology to present their work. This is a part of the Palaeontological Association.
If you would like to join the Palaeontology Society, please do so online here.
